7M Pictures’ CEO Kevin Carr to Compete in Eating Contest

Columbus, Oh., May 19, 2004. - 7M Pictures’ CEO Kevin Carr, a former contestant on the ABC reality program “Are You Hot?” is attempting to become the chomp champ of Central Ohio. He will be competing in the Columbus leg of the Zyng Noodle Eating Championship on Friday, May 21st.

The Zyng Noodle Eating Championship is sponsored by and will be held at the Zyng Asian Grill, 1368 Grandview Ave. in Columbus, Oh. It is organized by the International Federation of Competitive Eating (IFOCE), which supervises and regulates eating contests around the world. Their most famous contests is the Nathan’s hot dog eating contest on Coney Island in July.

The ten-minute competition will commence at 3:00 p.m. on May 21st. The noodles will be Shanghai noodles, a thick Chinese wheat-based noodle that is renowned for being difficult to consume competitively.

Carr will be going head-to-head with such nationally recognized eaters as Beautiful Brian Seiken from Brooklyn, who is ranked 15th in the world by the IFOCE. Carr, who has only officially competed once before in the Frank’s RedHot buffalo wing eating contest in Cleveland last year, plans to make an impact.

“I’ve always enjoyed Chinese food, and noodles are one of my favorite dishes,” says Carr. “The key to eating competitively is to come up with an eating strategy - and by all means, remember to swallow!”

“I knew that I had met a man who was more than simply a man,” said George Shea, IFOCE President, met Carr last year, “He was a champion - a leader of men and women and athletes. He’s an eater’s eater.”

Carr came in fifth place at the Cleveland leg of the Frank’s RedHot contest last year by eating 78 1/2 chicken wings in 12 minutes, which is equivalent to about 2 1/2 pounds of chicken meat.
